Petre – Trikoukia –Skafidi- Iligas gorge

We start our hike from the settlement of Petre in Askyfou ( 730m). We follow a path which leads to Anopoli Sfakion up to the abandoned settlement of Mouri, where the gorge starts. The path goes through Stravorahi, Trikoudia, Kalous Lakous and Kefala ( 1300m), which is the highest point of our hike. It is a well preserved path whose greatest part is covered by a forest of pine trees, oak trees and bushes. The path is easily accessible and woody. On the way we visit the chapel of Agios Georgios, whose floor is below the bottom of the gorge. The exit is 1500km west of Hora Sfakion.
